NightCoop guide
NightCoop requirements
Last checked: 2026-11-04 · Official version: v0.2.0-beta (2026-11-02) · Protocol 164 · Free · Windows 10/11 64-bit · Up to 8 players · RED4ext only (no CET) · Phantom Liberty not required
You need a licensed Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, updated to 2.5 or 2.31, plus the NightCoop archive made for that game version. Everyone in the session uses the same NightCoop build.
| Piece | Game 2.5 | Game 2.31 | Status |

| RED4ext in the zip | 1.31.0 | 1.30.0 | 1 source (NightCoop project) |
| Cyber Engine Tweaks | Not required | Not required | 1 source (NightCoop project) |
| Phantom Liberty | Not required | Not required | 1 source (NightCoop project) |
| System | Windows 10/11 64-bit | Windows 10/11 64-bit | 1 source (NightCoop project) |

The guides page still says 1.30
The install steps on the guides page still say RED4ext 1.30 is inside the archive. The download page and the release list are newer: 2.5 ships with 1.31.0 and 2.31 ships with 1.30.0. Use the current release row that matches your zip; the older guide sentence is shown separately.
RED4ext 1.31.0 was tagged on 24 October 2026 and its notes say the minimum game version is patch 2.5. RED4ext 1.30.0 was tagged on 9 March 2026. That is why the older game patch keeps the older loader.
PC specs belong to the game, not the mod
NightCoop does not publish its own CPU, RAM, or GPU list. The Steam page for Cyberpunk 2077 lists a minimum of 64-bit Windows 10, an i7-6700 or Ryzen 5 1600, 12 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB, RX 580 8 GB, or Arc A380, DirectX 12, and 70 GB on an SSD. The mod archive itself is about 10 MB. Do not treat 70 GB as a NightCoop requirement.

Questions
Do I install RED4ext myself?
The guides say the loader is already inside the NightCoop archive. You still need the archive that matches your game version.
Does the whole squad need Phantom Liberty?
No. If a guest lacks the expansion, the host can restart without it. A save that needs the expansion stays unloaded for that launch.
