Why NightCoop left Nexus Mods

Last checked: 2026-11-04 · Official version: v0.2.0-beta (2026-11-02) · Protocol 164 · Free · Windows 10/11 64-bit · Up to 8 players · RED4ext only (no CET) · Phantom Liberty not required

Nexus Mods 35681 was not the NightCoop project page. It was a reupload by xKaordi. Staff removed it on 24 October 2026 and banned that account for “Attempted monetisation of stolen mod content from an off-site source.” The developers were not banned, and the notice does not call the mod malware.

What the notice says

  • The page now says the mod was removed by a member of staff.
  • The deleted file name in the notice is “NightCoop - Open BETA - Cyberpunk 2077 CO-OP Online Mod.”
  • TheVampireDante carried out the ban. The notice records zero prior formal warnings. The topic is closed.
  • I do not have a Wayback copy of the original 35681 description, so I am not reconstructing what the reupload page claimed.

Timeline

  1. 23 October 2026: first public test.
  2. 24 October 2026: the reupload is removed and the uploader is banned. The same day the project ships 0.1.1-beta.2.
  3. 27 October 2026: 0.1.2-beta.
  4. 2 November 2026: 0.2.0-beta, still published on nightcoop.net.

“Banned” in search results refers to the uploader account. “Original” in those queries refers to the builds on nightcoop.net, not to a second mod. On 4 November 2026 a Nexus search for nightcoop returned compatibility patches 37123, 37145, and 37148, not a project download.

Questions

Who was banned?

The Nexus notice bans the account xKaordi. It does not name the NightCoop developers.

Where do I download it now?

From nightcoop.net/download.html. A Nexus search on 4 November 2026 showed compatibility patches, not a project home page.
