Logs and crash reports

A crash, a freeze, or a desync is hard to report when the useful files sit in three places. People searching for the Cyberpunk crash log location are usually one step away from the game’s own reporter, and they still need the loader log and the plugin log if the question is about NightCoop.
The three folders
- red4ext\logs — did the loader start, and did it accept this game version?
- red4ext\plugins\NightCoop\logs — the plugin’s own session files.
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\REDEngine\ReportQueue\<newest folder>\stacktrace.txt — the game crash report CD PROJEKT RED asks for.
Zip the first two trees and add the newest stacktrace. On Discord, include the clock time and whether you were host or guest. A report that only says “it crashed” leaves the reader guessing which of the three files mattered. The save notes from the independent analysis are useful here for a different reason: they describe where the world save lives, which is not the crash folder. Do not attach your whole save tree unless someone on the project asks. The guides treat the save directory as the thing you back up, not the thing you paste into a bug thread.
What each file answers
If Co-op is missing from the menu, start with the loader log. An unlisted game version makes RED4ext skip plugins, and that shows up there before any NightCoop line exists. If Co-op is present and the session still falls over, the plugin logs are the next file. If the game itself closes to desktop, the ReportQueue stacktrace is the file the publisher’s support page names. Mixing those up is why “cyberpunk crash log location” and “nightcoop logs” look like one query and are two folders.
Before sharing an archive publicly, review it for personal paths, IP addresses and session details. Keep the original privately so a project maintainer can request additional context. Evidence: 3 independent publishers (NightCoop guides, CD PROJEKT RED support and the independent save-lifecycle analysis); each supports the folder or mechanism attributed to it, not every path.

Questions
Which file is the game crash?
CD PROJEKT RED points at stacktrace.txt inside the newest folder under %LOCALAPPDATA%\REDEngine\ReportQueue.
Is the RED4ext log the same as the NightCoop log?
No. RED4ext’s own log shows whether the plugin loaded. The plugin folder has a separate logs directory for the session.
