NightCoop vs CyberMP

Last checked: 2026-11-04 · Official version: v0.2.0-beta (2026-11-02) · Protocol 164 · Free · Windows 10/11 64-bit · Up to 8 players · RED4ext only (no CET) · Phantom Liberty not required

NightCoop is a campaign you can download and play with up to eight people in the host world. CyberMP presents an open multiplayer sandbox. They answer different wishes. The CyberMP home page said “Now in semi-open beta!” on 4 November 2026 and offers Servers, Download, and Manager. The download page said the launcher is unavailable unless you are a tester.

Two status lines, both kept

u/Bayliner1980’s post says CyberMP has been in development for a while and has not been released. Comments on that thread call it a sandbox and say missions would be disabled, and one comment points at NightCoop for a dedicated story playthrough. The website’s own headline still says semi-open beta. The public access restriction is the practical download condition. A reader who wants the story this week has a public NightCoop build. A reader who wants CyberMP’s sandbox has a tester signup, not a file.

The servers page showed Players 0, Servers 0, and Peak 0 at the moment I loaded it. That is a reading of an empty list at one time. It is not proof that nobody ever connects. Player cap, mode list, and dependencies stay blank because the public pages do not give them.

Questions

Can I download CyberMP today?

The download page says you cannot get the launcher unless you are a tester, and that testers join Discord and wait for public tests.

Which sentence about release status do I keep?

Both. The site says “Now in semi-open beta!” A Reddit post says it has not been released and that missions are disabled. The official access policy and community wording have different scopes.
